I am an Art Therapist, based in Farranfore, Co. Kerry. Art Therapy is a means to communicate and explore thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences based on principles founded in neuroscience.

The Process of art making allows for the expression of issues that are not always easy to verbalize. Art Therapy enables the processing of deep seated trauma. Furthermore, Art Therapy combines the physical act of creating with the emotions that are evoked in the art making process.

Within the therapeutic relationship my role is to facilitate this process.

My interests lie in a holistic approach to recovery from trauma and mental health issues.

I have worked promoting positive mental health outcomes with all ages for over 25 years.

Sessions last for 1 hour (depending on age and whether it is individual or group sessions). During this time there is approximately 20 minutes of art making (You do not need to be Pablo Picasso, it is about the process not the product). Before and after the art making there is time for talking and expression of thoughts, ideas etc. Sessions take place in the bright, welcoming atmosphere of my clinic, which has a myriad of art making materials to explore.
