Presentation

Japanese alignment acupuncture, Herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine

Who is Adrienne Dooling:

I practice both Japanese and Chinese medicine. After graduating from TCM in California, I studied with a Master acupuncturist, Dr. Maekawa who is now 89 years old and in clinical practice in Hawaii. This rigorous apprenticeship taught me not only about the medical aspects of health but also about the importance of happiness for maintaining health and healing. Seitai Shinpo is a name meaning "Correct body needle method". In other words the focus of a treatment is to align the pelvis and spine for optimal health. This includes blood circulation, nerve conduction, relaxing the sympathetic nervous system to reduce stress, digestive improvement and boosting the immune system. Shiunko moxibustion is an adjunct therapy as well as herbal medicine in tincture or granule form.

How does it work and what happens during a session:

We go through your intake forms and health history as well as an acupuncture treatment at the first appointment which can take 1.5 hrs. I look at your patterns from an Eastern point of view and a Western point of view. I look at your body structure and pattern, ask questions and make a diagnosis. We can do this over the phone if your history is comprehensive but either way we are always looking at the root and branch cause and treatment of the issues presented. Oriental medicine is primarily focused on energy flow and blockages. Herbal medicine also doubles the effectiveness of acupuncture. Patients usually feel very relaxed and grounded after treatments as the body's own serotonin and endorphins are released. Sometimes I may look at functional lab options to target more specific gut microbiome treatments which the patient can do in the comfort of their own home.

If mental issues are primarily the problem then I may choose to do light TCM treatments where the patient is resting for most of the treatment with infra red heat in a relaxed and safe space.

What will those sessions be useful for:

Relief from pain anywhere in the body. Arthritis, headaches, migraines, PMS, peri menopause, menopause.

Relief from mental disorders such as anxiety, addictions, stress, burnout etc. Male and female issues.

Support for grief and loss of a loved one. This is where spirit treatments are helpful.

Digestive issues, immune support.

Support with dietary changes and cleansing.

Fertility and post partum support.

Children and teenagers health and wellbeing.

Please note that I cannot help with hernias, deafness or chronic tinnitus due to structural damage.
