Presentation

Who is Naomi Concannon:

Having grown up in a family of restaurateurs food has always played a big part of my life. I'm an avid food and herb grower and love foraging the countryside for medicinal plants. I came to Nutritional Therapy after becoming unwell; failing to find the support I needed from conventional medicine I set about researching alternative techniques and found a passion that led me to complete a diploma in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy with The College of Naturopathic Medicine. I was eventually diagnosed with Endometriosis and through my health journey I am now a passionate advocate of the benefits of natural medicine for women’s health.

I specializes in:

  • Women’s Health; menstrual, reproductive, perimenopause/menopause

  • Thyroid Health

  • Digestive Issues

  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Stress and Adrenal Fatigue

  • Immune System Support

  • Energy and Metabolism reset

How does it work and what happens during a session:

Naturopathic Nutrition combines the sciences of biochemistry and nutrition with natural therapies and lifestyle changes in order to help you maintain a good state of health. Naturopathic Nutrition is holistic because it aims to work with the person as a whole, addressing the underlying imbalances that may be impacting health, rather than just acting on symptoms. Protocols are tailored to each person’s unique needs, taking into account lifestyle, ethics and food preferences. Where necessary, diet and lifestyle advice are combined with a program of supplements, herbs and natural remedies (such as Homeopathy, Tissue Salts, Bach Flower remedies) aimed at addressing any imbalances.

Receiving your Naturopathic Protocol is a two-step process.

Step One, the Initial Consultation, is a face to face meeting that lasts for an hour. Before you attend you will receive a diet diary and health questionnaire to fill in. These must be completed and submitted to me 2 days before our consultation. During the consultation I will then ask questions to expand upon this information. I may use certain Naturopathic tools to help me create a picture of your health, and if necessary, recommend laboratory tests to deepen the knowledge we have of your body. Once I have a full picture of the health issues you need support with, I will then work on a protocol containing nutritional adjustments, lifestyle changes and supplements that I feel will benefit you.

Step Two, the Protocol Delivery, can either be a face to face or online meeting where I will deliver the protocol to you and we can work together to ensure it is a good fit. Prior to this meeting I will provide you with a copy of your Naturopathic Protocol and handouts tailored to your needs. This should give you time to become familiar with it and write down any questions you may  have. After the Protocol Delivery we can then decide on an appropriate schedule of repeat visits. The number of consultations necessary depends on your unique situation. The aim of follow-up appointments is to monitor your progress and adjust the protocol to suit your evolving needs. Repeat consultations generally last for 45 minutes and are usually every 2-4 weeks.
