Presentation

Who is Joseph Frighton:

My role as a chiropractor is to investigate and explain how the body works and the causes of your pain, to guide you in making changes for better overall health (nutrition, posture, specific exercises), and to help you regain this state of health by addressing spinal blockages and body tensions. Indeed, joint blockages can generate nerve interferences that lead to painful conditions, functional disturbances (such as stiff neck), or organic issues (like bloating). It's worth noting that the chiropractor is a primary care provider, meaning capable of making a differential diagnosis and identifying cases where referral to a medical doctor is necessary.

How does it work and what happens during a session:

The session begins with an interview about your medical history, lifestyle habits, and symptoms experienced. This is followed by a review of any additional exams (X-rays, MRIs, etc.) before a physical examination that includes an orthopaedic and neurological assessment. I examine posture, gait, coordination, and the range of motion of the entire body. Then, I perform chiropractic "adjustments" which involve manipulating the spine and other joints based on identified joint fixations. It's a precise, non-traumatic manual procedure following a well-established protocol to respect the joint. While these adjustments may produce a "cracking" sound if there's an impulse, it's not mandatory!

What will those sessions be useful for:

The goal of chiropractic is to restore overall health. A visit to the chiropractor can be helpful as soon as there's pain; it's the most intuitive indication. But chiropractic care can also enhance the performance of musicians, singers, dancers, and athletes. Ideally, one should consult a chiropractor preventively, and with every change in life, whether it's a change in activity, sport, or an emotional disruption, etc., because the body reacts and adapts to these new conditions, and I can assist in this adaptation.
